Betty’s background is in education and community development. She graduated from St. Francis Xavier University with Bachelor Degrees in Science (Nutrition and Consumer Studies) and Education. She worked as a supply teacher in the local elementary and high schools and as a lecturer at St. Francis Xavier University. Betty developed the Meals on Wheels program in Antigonish and worked with other community organizations such as Kids First and the Antigonish Community Food bank. Betty is the proud mother of four children and one grand daughter. She is a member of St. Ninian’s Senior Choir.
In 1998 Betty joined her husband, Leonard, in his practice, earning her Certified Financial Planner designation in 2003. Betty qualified as an Elder Planning Counselor through the Canadian Initiative for Elder Planning Studies and obtained her life insurance license in 2008. She is presently the Branch Manager for the Antigonish and Port Hawkesbury offices.
